This site is not just a hookah site. There are lots of hookah sites out there, but I like to think mine is unique. I'm not trying to push a product or a point of view on you. This isn't a business. The site is written in notepad in my free time and uploaded to cheap web hosting space. From my experience and from what I have heard of the experiences of people visiting my site, there is no other site on the net like mine.My site is here to convey information. I have two related goals that drive the content in this site.

The first is to educate the uninitiated or those less experienced than me about the hookah. I'm not hear to preach about health or cultural heritage. You should know smoking is bad for you, and as a white, Irish-descended American, I have no place talking about the deep, rich culture that surrounds the hookah in the Middle East. I want to teach people how to use a hookah, how a hookah works, and convey lessons about using the hookah that only experience can provide.

My second goal is to spread the concept of the homemade hookah throughout the hookah smoking community. The hookah is an amazing device that provides and amazing experience both privately and socially. Unlike smoking a pipe or a cigarette or cigar, however, the price of admission for that experience can be very high. Buying your own hookah will cost you. They can run in the hundreds of dollars, unless you happen to score a good deal on e-Bay. And whether or not you get a good deal on a factory-built hookah, they tend not to smoke well, unless they are genuine hookahs made in the Middle East. Other pre-made hookahs hit weakly and are difficult to maintain while smoking. If you don't buy a hookah, you have to smoke at a hookah bar, if you even have one available in your area, and that can be pricy, too. But hookahs are simple devices. You can build your own. I've built my own. I'd be willing to bet that over past couple years I've built more than a hundred. They make heavy smoke that drips with intense flavor, and they're cheap. If you're good at scrounging, you can build one out of stuff you already have at no cost to you. If you go out and buy materials, you can build one that will last you forever for less than fifteen dollars.
